Centrifugal Compressor Surge Control Analysis and Diagnostics

The dynamic interaction between the pipeline and a compressor in unsteady operation (such as in an ESD) can result in a unstable and dangerous condition that could severely damage the equipment.

In some instances the unsteady conditions that occur during normal operation of valves and equipment can produce pressure peaks and resonances that have the potential to damage the installation. AP Dynamics uses the expertise and software developed by Dr. K. Botros who has published over 10 papers on this subject. Models are constructed in such a way that the far-field conditions agree and match experimental data, where available.

Deliverables
•Complete simulation report.  This will present the modeling assumptions, results (in graphical form) and recommendations for changes necessary to avoid surge conditions, water-hammer and resonance.
